What Makes Jeddah Corniche Circuit the Fastest Formula 1 Street Track in the World?
The Jeddah Corniche Circuit stands as the world's fastest Formula 1 street track, featuring a high-speed layout with long straights and flowing corners that yield an average speed of approximately 252.8 km/h and top speeds reaching around 322 km/h.
Stretching along the Red Sea coast, the 6.174-kilometer circuit was designed by German engineer Hermann Tilke and his team in collaboration with the Formula 1 motorsport division, according to the Saudi Motorsport Company. Featuring 27 corners—16 left and 11 right—the track holds an official FIA Grade 1 license.
Constructed and prepared in approximately seven months, the circuit hosted the inaugural Formula 1 stc Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in 2021 as part of the FIA Formula One World Championship. To accommodate night racing standards, the venue is equipped with more than 2,000 lighting units. Featuring designated drag reduction system zones, the track's layout maximizes overtaking and competitive racing, cementing its status among the world's premier circuits and elevating Jeddah's global motorsport profile.
