KSrelief Covers Treatment of Palestinian Child with Rhabdomyosarcoma
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has continued its efforts to provide specialized medical care for Palestinian cancer patients in the Gaza Strip by covering the treatment of six-year-old Palestinian child Khaled Mustafa Khaled Ashour, who has been diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma. The treatment is being provided under the center's program for treating cancer patients in cooperation with the King Hussein Cancer Center in Jordan.
The medical team has begun monitoring the child's condition. He received an emergency dose of VAC chemotherapy, and a tumor biopsy was performed to complete the diagnostic procedures. The treatment plan includes magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and a positron emission tomography (PET) scan to determine the most appropriate course of treatment based on the test results and the recommendations of the joint medical committee.
