Communications Minister Advances Saudi-China Cooperation in AI, Space
Minister of Communications and Information Technology and Chairman of the Board of the Saudi Space Agency Abdullah Alswaha, accompanied by Governor of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) Eng. Haytham AlOhali, held a series of meetings with senior government officials and technology leaders in Beijing to strengthen Saudi–China partnerships and expand cooperation in artificial intelligence, the digital economy, advanced technologies, and space, in support of the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
Alswaha met with Minister of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China Li Lecheng to discuss expanding cooperation in AI, the digital economy, and emerging technologies, localizing advanced technologies, and advancing joint initiatives in telecommunications, advanced manufacturing, and innovation.
In the space sector, Alswaha met with Chairman of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) Zhou Jie to strengthen cooperation in localizing space technologies, developing national capabilities in satellite manufacturing, and advancing knowledge transfer, supporting the growth of the Kingdom’s space sector.
The minister also met with Founder and Chairman of Meituan Wang Xing to discuss cooperation in leveraging AI across digital services, developing smart logistics solutions and smart city applications, and supporting innovation and the adoption of emerging technologies in the Kingdom.
These meetings are part of the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its international partnerships in technology and space, expand cooperation in advanced technologies, develop national capabilities, and enhance the competitiveness of Saudi Arabia’s digital economy.
